I take my dogs for a walk just about every weekday morning. We have our usual routine. Having my friends dog Louie with us has made the routine a little more interesting and not so routine. The first day he just couldn't figure out his place.
Well, the Mary's Tack and Feed Annual Tent Sale is just around the corner and I find myself all aflutter with anticipation. This sale is the equivalent of the Nordstrom Half Yearly for horse people – if you can even imagine such a thing.
So the thing that got me, was it seemed Quigley learned to understand my tone or language when I'm on the phone with my husband, as well as that person-on-the-phone's name is Steve, and Steve is the guy who comes home. Amazing!

It's tempting to share juicy Thanksgiving Day table scraps with our dogs. But some foods can pose serious hazards for our loyal companions because their metabolism is different than ours.
Took the dogs on a short jog this morning. I have been trying to teach the two of them to jog with me and as a team. We do a little jog — a little walk so that we can all get into better shape at a comfortable pace and so I can adjust leashes periodically.
We took Pamela and Quigley to the beach for the first time. Our first time taking Pamela to a beach since we adopted her and Quigley's first time ever.
Pamela and Quigley! Well, it has now been one week since we brought Pamela home and all is going well. Quigley loves his new friend and she is warming up to all of us.
Yesterday, we picked up our new dog, Pamela, at the San Diego airport. We adopted Pamela from a couple in Texas who needed to downsize their living situation and couldn't take a large dog with them. I have never transported or received an animal via airplane - what an experience.
Since this is my first post to this category, I thought I should introduce the current players and give you an idea of what I plan to post. I say current players because we're animal people and by that very nature we will always have animals around us.
